Lake District

I can't believe that 5 weeks from now, my semester abroad will be just a memory. Time has gone by incredibly fast. This has been the most challenging semesters in many aspects and I know it will be bittersweet when it ends. I am in the midst right now of making some huge decisions! I found out that I get to be an RA for freshman girls in Ohio Hall next year which I am so excited for!! I know that God is going to challenge me and change me through this experience and I can't wait to be part of 150 freshman girls lives! I am also figuring out summer school and picking out classes for my senior year of college! Oh my gosh! I can't believe I'm at this place again already. The next year is going to bring so many changes and I couldn't be more ready and excited for them!

It's so interesting to me because we spend so much of our time looking to the future and planning the next steps. This weekend I got a chance to get away from the big city, and the man made buildings and just be in God's beautiful nature. I went on the school trip to the Lake District, which is the second most visited spot in England, runner-up to London. These two places in England are complete opposites and I loved them both! This trip was so much fun and very relaxing at the same time. We left Thursday night and drove 4.5 hours to the northwest part of England to spend the weekend at a hostel in the lake district. It reminded me of Colorado and it was so great to be in the outdoors. I was able to slow down, reflect and just be. On Friday we spent the entire day hiking through the forests and on the trails. We hiked about 14 miles that day! It was fun to walk in the woods and be on the trails. Saturday, we had activities planned that we signed up for. I rock climbed in the mountains in the morning and ghyll scrambled, which is water fall climbing in the afternoon. I absolutely fell in love with rock climbing. I have climbed before, but doing it outdoors in the mountains was amazing. It was such an adrenaline rush and challenging, but really fun! Ghyll Scrambling is something that is special to the UK. Basically we put on waterproof clothing and climbed up a waterfall in the rocks and the water. It was very cold, but a blast.

This weekend was rejuvenating for me and needed at this point in the semester. I feel ready to get stuff done this week, which is good because I have 3 papers, a presentation and a Shakespeare book to read! And then I get to see family! My brother and his friend Jason will be here on Thursday and then I am meeting up with my mom and aunt Karen on Friday for our 10 adventure to Paris, Rome, & Cinque Terre! I cannot wait, I miss my mom soo much!
